However, as he advanced in his pediatric dental education, he came to understand the critical role proper breathing physiology plays in overall health. In this video, Dr. Hatch shares his personal journey as a patient and how it shaped his approach to care.
Awareness of tongue and lip ties is growing, but their effects are still frequently overlooked or dismissed.

More about Dr. Brian
Southern California native, Dr. Brian Hatch is affectionately known as “The Baby Whisperer” for his natural ability to calm and connect with children. His passion for working with kids was ignited during a service trip to the Dominican Republic while he was in dental school. There, he discovered the profound reward of improving children’s oral health and building connections with the local community.
Outside of work, Dr. Brian is a proud fan of all things nerd culture. He has attended San Diego Comic-Con with his sons for over a decade, making it their favorite annual tradition. While he admits to indulging in an occasional Cherry Pepsi Zero with lunch, it’s always followed by a quick brush! His greatest joy comes from spending time with his three sons and his wife of more than 25 years.

“My baby needed a tongue/lip tie release so we were referred to Dr. Hatch. He and his staff were so kind, professional, and knowledgeable which gave me a lot of reassurance as a new mom. The procedure is a bit painful for the baby but she was handled with care and love.”
